The first Irish survey was carried out in 1992 and results of this were reported in Continuity and change in Irish employee relations (Gunnigle et al., 1994). This current text, based on 1995 data, makes reference to the previous findings in order to bring into focus any major changes which have occurred since the first study in 1992--P. [1].
